ANDRZEJ MIZGAJSKI

Andrzej Mizgajski is Professor of Earth Sciences at Adam Mickiewicz University in Poznań. He is the author of more than 170 publications in environmental management, urban ecology and complex geography. He has extensive practical experience in environmental management. Among others, he has served as Secretary of State at the Ministry of the Environment and Director of the Department of Environmental Protection at the Voivodship Office in Poznań. He served as Chairman of the State Council for Environmental Protection from 2014 to 2019. Honours received include a scholarship from the renowned Alexander Humboldt Foundation. He participates in important European research programmes. He represents Poland in the European Strategy Forum on Research Infrastructures (ESFRI) as a member of the environment group. At the European Research Council, he participates in the evaluation panel. He is a member of the Advisory Committee of the Society for Urban Ecology (SURE), within which he heads the Central Europe Branch.
